North Sea Music (1997)

"La música folklórica en los países alrededor del Mar del Norte tiene muchas características comunes. En Shetland, en Escocia e Irlanda, encontramos canciones y melodías que tienen variantes en la música folclórica noruega. El comercio, el transporte marítimo y el éxodo son probablemente las razones más importantes y obvias, mientras que los hechos históricos también explican las muchas características culturales comunes que encontramos en las Islas Británicas y Escandinavia. Es suficiente mencionar la emigración noruega a Escocia y que Shetland perteneció a Noruega hasta 1469. La gente de Shetland continuó hablando noruego hasta el siglo XVIII, e incluso hoy, palabras y frases que son noruegas todavía se usan.
