"El conjunto Gardarica se creó en 2006 como un proyecto de amigos músicos que tenían el mismo deseo de tocar música folclórica, y no cualquiera, sino la sueca. Se eligieron melodías tradicionales de Suecia como repertorio y la nyckelharpa, un instrumento popular sueco, se convirtió en el instrumento solista, pero la sección rítmica consistía en un bouzouki irlandés y una darbuka (tambor turco). Luego, además de melodías suecas, comenzó a interpretar música francesa, irlandesa e italiana, convirtiéndose finalmente en un grupo folclórico con un repertorio completamente "internacional", una mezcla de danzas folclóricas bretonas, arreglos y obras originales de los músicos del conjunto, motivos medievales, renacentistas, sefardíes y de los balcanes.

Al principio, los instrumentos principales eran la nyckelharpa y el violín. Con el tiempo, se añadieron la viola barroca, el violín eléctrico, la talharpa y la kalyuka. El ritmo lo marcan el wargan, el tar, el boran, el jambay y la darbukka.

Gardarica comenzó siendo melodías del norte de Europa interpretadas por músicos rusos. Y como sabemos, los antiguos vikingos llamaban a Rus: Gardarika." (gardarica-narod-ru / spb--gardarica-narod-ru)
